CJLEADS Service Alert

 Locked or Disabled NCID Accounts

CJLEADS staff want to bring an important message to your attention that will affect your CJLEADS account.

As you know, all CJLEADS users must have an active NCID. Since the implementation of Azure Authentication, users now log into CJLEADS with an email address and email password (in most cases). Since users are logging into CJLEADS with email credentials, they are forgetting to update the NCID password before it expires. Now accounts are Disabled in NCID.

At this time, CJLEADS overlooks the Disabled status of an NCID account, but soon this will no longer be the case.

We anticipate this to be implemented within the next 2 weeks (early May 2025). We ask that you take steps to check the status of your NCID account. This is important so you do not have a lapse in access.

To check if your account is locked or disabled, you will need to visit NCID: Identity Management Dashboard. Log into your account using your NCID credentials and the system will tell you if the account is locked or disabled. If you do not know your NCID credentials, you will need to contact your NCID/CJLEADS agency admin for assistance.

For Locked accounts, please follow these instructions to unlock your account: Unlocking your NCID Account

For Disabled accounts contact the NCID/CJLEADS agency admin. The agency admin must reactivate the account in NCID. Instructions for agency admins can be found here: Reactivate Employee Account

For any account that is Reactivated in NCID, the password must also be reset. The password update is so the account will not disable again. You will receive a temporary password from the agency admin, and you must log into NCID with your NCID username and the temp password. The system will prompt you to create a permanent password. Once the password is updated, you must wait 30-45 minutes for the systems to sync and then attempt to log into CJLEADS again.

Please note that although NCID credentials are a critical component of CJLEADS access and must be kept active, most CJLEADS users will still use their work email and email password to access CJLEADS.

CJLEADS staff cannot assist users with locked or disabled NCID accounts

If you do not know who your NCID administrator is, please use one of these sources to locate them: NCID Administrators by County / NCID Administrator by State Agency
